Antique 95 Knife J Lingard Pea Croft SheffieldOldpyz store. Antique 9.5 knife j lingard pea croft sheffield. This, to me, is a very nice looking antique folding knife. It appears to be rather old and very well made.
It shows lost of age & natural wear but is still a nice vintage piece. The blade is marked j lingard pea croft sheffield. It has 2 worn bone or stag handles with brass rivets. There are fancy decorated silver mteal covers on both ends. They look as if they made be thin silver wraps but they are not marked 'silver' that i could find. On the blade edge you can see they are a htin coating that's very slightly separated from the backing. I measure it open at 9 1/2 lnog & 5 1/2 closed.
As an antique piece, i think it is in vg+ condition. It opens & closes tightly, has a good edge, and has moderate wear & smoothness from many years of use. I noticed the following 1the pin where the blade pivots ahs dented the silver cap on both sides. 2there is a very faint, shallow, line on the one edge of the bone handle. (see photo with pen point) it isn't deep or oepn to the touch.
3. There is a slight edge splinter and another very fine line toward the rivet. (see photo with pen point) please view all my pictures carefully to better determine the exact condition to your own satisfaction. I ask thta you ask necessary questions early.
